Cycling navigation
Ride the city on your terms.
Velomo plans bike routes by how you want to ride today: the calmest streets, the quickest line, or the balance between. Then it guides you turn by turn, in your language.

Three ways to get there
Pick the ride, not just the destination.
Every route request gives you three options, each with a safety score from 0 to 100 and the risky spots on the way: busy crossings without traffic lights, right turns across traffic, stretches on busy roads.
Safest
Quiet streets, fewer big crossings, no right turns across busy roads where it can avoid them. A little longer, a lot calmer.
Balanced
Trims the detours while still keeping you off the roads that aren’t worth it.
Fastest
The direct line, main roads included. You see its safety score and risky spots before you go.
Turn-by-turn
Guidance that keeps your eyes on the road.
Clear voice prompts and big arrows, timed for bike speed rather than car speed. Velomo speaks English or Thai, and reads street names from the map in the language you ride in.
- Male or female voice, using the voices on your phone
- Warns you before busy crossings, right turns across traffic and spots riders reported
- Takes your own shortcut? A new route at once, and whether it is safer or not

Your ride, your rules
Switch on what matters today.
Some days you want shade. Some nights you want to stay off dark paths. Velomo’s options change how routes are built, not just what the map shows.
- Night riding: avoids park paths, tracks and unpaved ways that are dark after sunset
- Prefer shade: tree-lined streets and park paths on hot days
- OK to carry bike up stairs: allows footbridges when you’re happy to lift

Riders, not just routes
Ride with friends.
Invite friends with a link and compare your week on a friends leaderboard: distance, CO₂ saved or number of rides. Badges mark streaks and milestones, and every one can be shared as a picture.
- Friends leaderboard for this week, this month or all time
- Badges you can share to your Story or feed
- Share your live ride so someone at home can follow you on a map

How it works
Three taps and you’re rolling.
Say where you’re going
Search a place, drop a pin, or pick a saved spot. Velomo finds places in Thai and English.
Choose Safest, Balanced or Fastest
Compare the three on the map, with time, distance, safety score and the risky spots on each.
Ride with voice guidance
Put the phone away. Velomo talks you through every turn and finds a new route if you take your own way.
A look inside
Designed to be glanced at, not stared at.

Questions
Things people ask before their first ride
When can I use Velomo?
A small group of riders is testing Velomo in Bangkok right now. The Android app opens there first, then in more cities. Leave your email on the sign-up page and we will tell you when it is ready.
Which phones will it run on?
Android first. An iPhone version follows once the Android app is stable.
Is Velomo free?
Yes, everything is free while we test it. If we ever add paid extras, they will be optional and clearly marked.
How does Velomo decide what is “safe”?
Every street gets a score from its road type, number of lanes and speed limit. Crossings count too: a busy crossing without traffic lights, or a right turn across a busy road (Thailand drives on the left), weighs heavily. “Safest” takes the low-risk streets even when the ride gets longer; “Fastest” takes the direct line and shows you what that costs. Confirmed rider reports change the routes as they come in.
Does it work in Thai?
Fully. Pick Thai on first start and every screen, voice prompt and street name is in Thai. Switch to English any time in settings.
Does Velomo look out for me on the way?
Yes. Before a busy crossing, a right turn across traffic or a spot other riders reported, Velomo tells you in advance. While you ride, an SOS button calls emergency services (1669), the police (191) or the tourist police (1155), or sends your location to your emergency contact.
What happens to my data?
Your rides, saved places and settings stay on your phone. Our server only gets what it needs to work, like a route request or a report you send. We do not sell data, and “Delete my data” in the app removes everything, on your phone and on our server. The details are in our privacy policy.
